Why we included this project
Dayflow runs quietly in the background on a Mac, periodically capturing lightweight screen samples and sending them to the AI provider you choose, local models through Ollama or LM Studio among them, then reassembles your day into a timeline of activity cards. You get an accurate work journal without starting timers or writing notes, which makes it easy to reconstruct what you actually did hours later. It also produces a GitHub-style activity grid for daily standups, a weekly review that shows where focus and time went, and a chat interface that answers questions about your day from your real timeline. Because it is local-first and open source, the whole analysis can stay on your machine if you use a local model, which matters for people who want AI-assisted productivity tracking without sending screenshots to a cloud service. Consultants who bill by the hour, teams running daily standups, and anyone who just wants a low-effort private record of the working week will find it useful.
