Why we included this project

anarlog is a desktop meeting notetaker that runs the whole capture pipeline on your machine: it joins the call, transcribes locally so audio never leaves your device, and writes the canonical record to a local SQLite database, with Markdown export when you want notes elsewhere. The model is entirely your choice too, so you can point the summarizer at OpenAI or Anthropic or run it fully offline through Ollama or LM Studio. Because the code is MIT licensed and forkable, developers can adapt the workflow to fit their own tools instead of being locked into a vendor's roadmap. It is a good fit for anyone who wants meeting notes they actually control and is willing to handle the self-hosting themselves.
