Why we included this project

Running the official DeepSeek Harness agent harness normally means installing Node.js first; this desktop client removes that step by bundling its own runtime and the dsh CLI. Double-clicking the installer or a portable exe drops you straight into the agent's web UI on Windows or Linux with no environment setup, and the app layers on practical extras the stock CLI lacks: ten community UI skins, a plugin protection system that snapshots installs and rolls back ones that break, an in-session terminal, live font and color theming, automatic context compaction near the limit, and a small cost widget showing the current round's spend and remaining balance. Sessions, API keys, and configuration carry over between the desktop app and a separately installed CLI, since they share the same harness data. If you would rather work in a tray-resident window than a browser tab, this makes a solid daily setup.
