Why we included this project

Claude Code and Codex are terminal-first agents, and on a MacBook with a notch, Notchi gives you a second readout you can see without watching the terminal: an animated mascot that reacts as your agent thinks, edits, asks for permission, or compacts context, with optional sound effects. The expanded panel is the more practical part: it shows session time, per-provider usage quota, and daily cost and token totals over the past 30 days, so heavy users can tell at a glance what a run costs. Sentiment analysis of prompts, via Anthropic or OpenAI APIs, is opt-in and adds personality rather than utility, and each concurrent session gets its own mascot, which is nice if you juggle several agent runs at once. It requires macOS 15 and a MacBook with the notch, so the audience is specifically Apple users who want agent activity and usage outside the terminal window.
