Why we included this project

Coding agents each keep their skills and custom agents in their own hidden dotfile directories, and once you run more than one, tracking them down gets old fast. Chops is a native macOS app that reads those folders for Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Windsurf, Amp, Copilot, and Aider, then presents everything in a single searchable three-column window. The built-in editor parses each tool's frontmatter, so you can edit skills in place, and you can also create new ones with the correct boilerplate or group items into collections without modifying the source files. FSEvents watching means changes on disk appear immediately. For anyone maintaining a growing library of agent skills, this removes the guesswork of remembering which file lives where and keeps your setup consistent across tools. It's a desktop utility rather than a library, so expect to build it from source with Xcode and xcodegen on macOS 15 or later.
