Why we included this project
ChatMock lets you point the chat and coding apps you already use at OpenAI's Codex. It runs a small local server that speaks both the OpenAI and Ollama API dialects, so any client that can talk to those endpoints can reach Codex through your ChatGPT account. Because it is a translation layer rather than a model, you can keep your existing tooling and still try a different coding agent. Installation covers Homebrew, pip, a GUI installer, and Docker, with a headless mode for unattended servers. That makes it a low-friction way to see how Codex performs in your current editor before you commit to a paid plan.
