Why we included this project

Most product teams eventually hit the same wall: sending notifications across email, SMS, push, in-app inbox, and chat without writing a separate integration for each provider. Novu gives you one API and a workflow engine to orchestrate those channels, plus an embeddable inbox and digesting so users don't get flooded. The newer agent layer builds on the same foundation for AI agents, taking inbound messages from Slack, Teams, Telegram, WhatsApp, and email and folding them into a single conversation model, then routing replies back out. That's handy for teams building conversational products or support agents that need to reach users on channels they already use, while keeping the agent logic in your own stack. If you're tired of maintaining separate webhook handlers and provider SDKs, this is a solid self-hostable base to build on.
