Why we included this project

Pinokio turns the messy business of installing open-source AI tools into a one-click operation that runs entirely on your own machine. You install a script that downloads the project, sets up its runtime, and launches it, so you skip the usual dance with package managers, dependency conflicts, and Python environments. The curated Discover page only lists scripts that passed a publisher verification and review process, which gives some assurance that what you're installing has been looked at, while power users can still write and run their own scripts. That makes it a practical bridge for anyone who wants to try local LLMs or image generators without becoming a deployment engineer, and for a solo developer or small team hopping between models, it cuts the time from 'found a project' to 'actually using it'.
