Why we included this project

AI coding agents run unattended for most of a task, and the moments they actually need you are the ones you miss: a permission prompt that stalls the run, or a long job that finishes while you are away. peon-ping turns those events into audio and on-screen signals, playing voice lines from Warcraft, StarCraft, Portal, and Zelda whenever the agent needs input or has wrapped up. It hooks into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Copilot, Gemini CLI, and other tools through adapters, and an MCP interface lets the agent itself choose the sound for a given event. The payoff is that you can leave the terminal and trust the notifications to call you back instead of re-checking the scrollback every few minutes. It is a small addition to an agent-heavy workflow that removes a surprising amount of context-switch friction.
