Why we included this project

Connecting AI agents to real SaaS tools and internal systems usually means rebuilding the same plumbing for every integration, including auth flows and audit trails that each service handles differently. Metorial sits between agents and those systems and standardizes that layer, so one API or connection URL covers OAuth, API keys, and service accounts across hundreds of providers. You expose integrations to your agent framework once, then reuse those connections across projects and environments instead of re-implementing auth logic per app. RBAC, SAML SSO, and scoped permissions are built in, and audit logs tie every action to a specific agent using specific credentials, which is what security teams ask for before anything touches production. For teams moving past demos who need agents to call Slack, Google Calendar, SAP, or a custom MCP server under controlled access, this is a practical starting point.
