Why we included this project
If you've ever been mid-interview in a shared coding environment, Cheetah is the kind of tool you wish you'd had while practicing. It's a macOS app that transcribes both sides of the call locally with Whisper and sends the text to GPT-4 using your own OpenAI key. From there it can draft answers, refine them when the interviewer tightens constraints, and analyze the code and logs visible in your browser through a companion Firefox extension. The interface stays minimal so the coaching doesn't get in the way during a live call, which is the right call for the use case, though it's built for mock interviews and carries no correctness guarantees. You'll need Apple silicon and a comfortable build setup with whisper.cpp and SDL2 to get it running.
