Why we included this project

Kun is a local-first agent workbench that spans coding, writing, design, research, and automation, with desktop GUI and terminal TUI sharing the same runtime so a task started in one place carries over cleanly to the other. That continuity is what separates it from a chat box: it holds requirements, plans, file edits, tests, reviews, and final delivery in one workflow, and gives you local workspaces, diffs, browser previews, and an acceptance step to check against the original goal. It is not locked to any one model, works with OpenAI/Anthropic-compatible endpoints and self-hosted options, and keeps sessions and runtime data on your machine by default. Developers, writers, designers, and researchers who want ideas pushed to verifiable results are the natural audience. Before adopting it, note the PolyForm Noncommercial license; teams with commercial or SaaS use should confirm their path first.
