Why we included this project

People who already run Ollama on a Mac get a proper native app here instead of juggling a browser tab. Ollamac connects to the local server, works with whatever models you have pulled, and lets you point it at a different host if you need to. Because it is a real macOS app written in Swift, long chat sessions feel lighter than they do in a web interface. It is also a straightforward way to hand local inference to teammates who are not comfortable with the command line, all without the cost of a commercial chat client.
