Why we included this project

Windows users running Codex Desktop with a custom provider or local tweaks know the failure this skill fixes: a Store upgrade quietly hides models, greys out the Ultra toggle, reverts the interface to English, and breaks plugins, Computer Use, and phone remote control. The project packages the repair workflow as an Agent Skills definition plus reference PowerShell and Electron patcher scripts, so an agent can reapply the fixes and refresh the skill itself before each run. Patches are deliberately conservative, applied only to exact documented file hashes rather than rewriting the app wholesale, and the scripts include backup and rollback paths for what they touch. Teams that standardize on Codex Desktop on Windows and want a repeatable way to restore a working configuration after updates will find this a useful starting point, though the approach is tied to the Windows MSIX package layout and should not be run on macOS.
