Why we included this project

ChatLab is a desktop app for people who want to dig into years of their own chat history without handing raw conversations to a cloud service. It imports exports from eight messaging platforms, maps them into a single data model, then lets you run SQL queries or point AI agents at the data to search and summarize it. The built-in charts show trends, interaction frequency, and time-of-day activity, so you can answer questions like who you talk to most or when your busiest chats happen. Everything runs locally by default, and there's a CLI that starts the same API headlessly for scripts and automation. If you have years of exported messages sitting around and want to make sense of them without writing your own parser, this is a solid place to start.
