Why we included this project

YCursor is a Windows and macOS desktop utility for developers who run Cursor on a free trial and want to keep that trial going without paying. A single GUI handles the whole renewal loop: it resets the local machine ID, auto-registers a fresh trial account, and swaps the new account in so Cursor doesn't kick you out at the login screen on relaunch. That last step is where the project earns its keep, since it was built specifically around the failure where automated account switching left users logged out of Cursor. One honest caveat: getting a usable trial account today requires attaching a payment method such as Alipay, though the docs say nothing is charged and it can be unbound right after, and the whole workflow depends on Cursor's own policies, so it needs upkeep to keep working. Treat it as a community-maintained tool, read the setup guide, and expect occasional breakage rather than a set-and-forget install.
