Why we included this project

YoutubeDownloader does one thing well: it saves YouTube videos to a local drive instead of streaming them in a browser. Paste a link to any video, playlist, or channel, pick a quality and container, and it handles the rest, including subtitles, alternate audio tracks, and media tags. A keyword search is built in, so you can grab a few clips without hunting for exact URLs, and signing in to a YouTube account lets you pull content that is not public. As a desktop app you run yourself rather than a hosted service, it suits individuals and small teams that want offline archives or MP3 collections without routing their downloads through a third party. It talks to YouTube directly through the YoutubeExplode library, so there is no scraping service in the middle.
