Why we included this project

Anyone who pays for two or three AI coding assistants knows the pain of guessing how much quota is left in each one. ClaudeBar is a small macOS menu bar app that reads the CLI credentials and config already on your machine and shows session and weekly usage percentages for most providers, including Claude, Codex, Gemini, and GitHub Copilot, in one place. No need to open a terminal or check each vendor's dashboard; everything runs locally, so there are no extra accounts to create and no cloud sync involved. Color-coded progress bars and system notifications flag you before you run out, which helps when a provider resets mid-task or you are spreading work across plan tiers. If you juggle several coding-assistant subscriptions, this is a simple way to avoid surprise overage charges.
