Why we included this project

Anyone who leans on Claude Code for long stretches has hit a rate or token limit mid-task, usually at the worst possible moment. This monitor runs in the terminal and reads your actual usage against your plan's limits, then shows where you stand in a live Rich-based dashboard, complete with forecasts for when you'll run out and warnings before you get there. If you run long sessions or coordinate a shared API budget with a team, it answers the practical question of how much runway you have left without sending you to the provider's dashboard. The data is also available in machine-readable formats with provenance labels, so you can script your own alerts, pipe the numbers into a status bar, or keep a local history that survives Claude's built-in cleanup window. It's a focused utility built around one real pain point rather than a general-purpose framework.
