Why we included this project
Anyone juggling Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, Cursor, OpenCode, and whichever new agent ships next month will find tokscale handy. It's a terminal program that reads each agent's local logs and databases, then rolls those sessions into one view of what you're actually spending on tokens. A TUI dashboard adds daily summaries, model-level stats, and cost trends, while the optional global leaderboard lets you publish your numbers if that's your thing. The leaderboard is a social extra; the core value is knowing, without opening a dozen config folders, where your usage is going. Small teams watching AI spend and individuals trying to spot a pattern before the bill arrives get a straight answer about which tools are eating their budget.
