Why we included this project

CodeBurn reads the session files that Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Gemini, and other AI coding tools already write to disk, and turns them into a breakdown of token usage and cost across 31 tools and agents, by model, project, and task. It runs entirely locally with no proxy or API keys, and pricing data comes from LiteLLM, refreshed daily. It also scans your sessions and Claude setup for waste patterns, such as files re-read across sessions, unused MCP servers, and bloated config files, and estimates the token and dollar savings for each one. It can even apply config-level fixes with a journaled undo history, so you can roll changes back if they don't help. That's the kind of detail solo developers and teams need when an expensive model is handling work a cheaper one could do.
