Why we included this project

Anyone running paid coding plans through OpenCode eventually wants to see real token spend without losing context window space just to ask for it. opencode-quota pulls usage straight from each provider's API and shows it in the session sidebar, a compact status line, toast checks, and slash commands like /tokens_today and /tokens_monthly, so teams mixing Copilot, Cursor, OpenAI, Claude, OpenRouter, and a long tail of other providers get actual numbers instead of estimates. Because tracking runs outside the model conversation, there is no context window pollution and the reports themselves cost no tokens. A CLI also emits JSON for scripts, status bars, and CI, plus optional OpenTelemetry metrics if you already route monitoring elsewhere. It is one local place to keep an eye on budgets and balance before a quota resets.
