Why we included this project
Shutter Encoder wraps FFmpeg in a desktop interface, which makes it a practical pick for video editors and post-production teams who want reliable, repeatable output without writing command lines. You can switch between codecs like H.264, ProRes, and DNxHR, remux containers, trim clips losslessly, and pull audio or subtitle streams out of a file without re-encoding. The batch queue and presets help when the same delivery settings come up over and over, and the finishing tools, loudness normalization, black-frame detection, watermarking, and EDL export, cover the tasks that usually sit at the end of a project. Since FFmpeg does the heavy lifting, the format support stays broad, but the graphical layer keeps it approachable for people who are not encoding specialists.
