Why we included this project

VidCutter is a desktop video editor that keeps its scope deliberately small: trim clips and join them. It does lossless cuts by working directly with FFmpeg, so you can drop unwanted sections from a recording without re-encoding the whole file and losing quality. The interface is a simple timeline with frame-accurate markers, which makes it far less intimidating than a full non-linear editor like Premiere or Kdenlive. It runs natively on Linux, macOS, and Windows, with packages for Flatpak, Snap, AppImage, and distro repos, so it fits into an existing desktop setup rather than requiring a server or command-line session. Anyone who works with raw footage, screen recordings, or interview clips and just wants quick, reliable trimming and concatenation will find it a lightweight alternative to heavyweight suites.
