Why we included this project

Reusing a paid ChatGPT subscription as a coding backend is exactly what this project does. It is a local bridge that installs ChatGPT Web, including the paid tiers and their reasoning levels, as a native model in OpenAI's Codex app. Codex keeps its own task context and tooling while the model turn itself runs through a fresh ChatGPT session; replies, visible reasoning, and tool activity stream back into the same task, and the embedded browser shows each turn live. A cross-platform launcher handles sign-in, setup checks, runtime health, and local logs. For free or Go accounts that hit Codex usage limits, this is a practical way to reuse an existing ChatGPT subscription as a full coding backend, and in full mode MCP can connect ChatGPT back to the tools of the same Codex task.
