Why we included this project

For anyone running DeepSeek through the DeepSeek Harness web interface, this plugin parks a small whale mascot in the corner of the screen that keeps an eye on account balance and today's usage, so you don't have to open the platform dashboard to see what you're spending. The balance refreshes every 60 seconds or on click, with rolling number animations when it changes, and per-turn conversation costs are logged by listening to local session events rather than estimating from prompts. Daily usage works with no token needed: the whale derives amounts from observed balance drops, while an optional platform-token mode calls DeepSeek's usage endpoint for exact hour-by-hour figures with peak and off-peak pricing. The widget drags around, snaps to screen edges, mirrors itself when docked on the left, and has a menu for resizing and muting sounds. For teams that already run DSH, it's a handy way to watch API spend without leaving the client.
