Why we included this project

Anyone who runs more than one OpenAI Codex CLI account knows the hassle of switching between them and keeping track of quota. Codex Switcher is a Tauri-based desktop app that puts account switching in the system tray, shows live rate-limit windows and usage stats, and can warm up accounts automatically after each five-hour reset window or on a schedule. It also handles the details that trip people up: it preserves rotated ChatGPT sessions when you switch, detects running Codex sessions and offers a force-close before retrying, and lets you import an existing auth.json so you can start without re-authenticating. For developers juggling several Codex subscriptions or team accounts, it's a practical way to avoid hitting quota limits mid-task.
