Why we included this project
Keeping a personal music library means having files you can actually move, tag, and play anywhere, and this tool turns an Apple Music subscription into exactly that. It downloads songs, music videos, and post videos to local folders in AAC or other codecs, handles video up to 4K, and writes synced lyrics in LRC, SRT, or TTML while tagging files with metadata. The catch is that it is a command-line app: you need an active subscription, exported browser cookies, and comfort with a terminal. It is highly configurable, can pull entire artist discographies, and optionally routes account and decryption work through a companion wrapper server for better codec support. For anyone who wants a scriptable, dependable way to back up Apple Music content, this is a solid choice.
