Why we included this project

When you keep more than one AI coding assistant in your workflow, you end up restating the same project conventions in each tool's config format. Rulesync is a Node.js CLI that stores a single set of rule files and generates the per-tool configurations from them, covering rules, commands, MCP servers, ignore files, subagents, and skills for Copilot, Cursor, Cline, Claude Code, and similar agents. Selective generation lets you export only the pieces a given assistant or team actually needs, and import/export makes sharing rulesets between projects or people simple. For developers and leads who want consistent agent behavior across a team, it takes away the busywork of keeping several configs in sync by hand. You can install it globally via npm or Homebrew, or grab a single binary and drop it into existing setup scripts.
