Why we included this project

Run several Claude Code or Codex sessions at once and you'll quickly learn that keeping them alive is the easy part. Remembering which one is waiting on you is the hard part. Session Kit is a small terminal picker that lists every session in one numbered, colour-coded menu; type a number and you're back in the one that needs you. Sessions keep running on the host through terminal and SSH disconnects, and each can carry its own provider account and model, which helps when different work runs on different subscriptions. It can also restore a closed conversation and keeps machine-originated delegated work in its own git worktree. The tool is deliberately minimal, installs per user on Linux with systemd or macOS 14+, and is MIT licensed with no telemetry and no hosted account, so your AI coding workflow stays on your own machine.
