Why we included this project
Databend is a Rust data warehouse that runs directly on object storage such as S3, combining OLAP analytics, full-text search, vector similarity, and geospatial querying in one engine. Teams that already keep their data on object storage can add search and AI-style retrieval without standing up a second database. It also targets AI agent workflows: Python user-defined functions execute in a sandbox next to the data, while SQL orchestration and git-like branching let agents test against production snapshots without touching the live dataset. Developers who want vector or full-text capabilities alongside their existing analytics will find a single SQL interface here. A local Python driver and a Docker image make it easy to try before committing to a full deployment.
