Why we included this project

Anyone who uses OpenAI Codex regularly knows the setup sprawls: accounts, sessions, MCP entries, Skills, and router settings live in separate files under ~/.codex, and switching accounts or hitting a quota cap usually means hand-editing TOML, JSON, or SQLite. AiMaMi is a native desktop app, built with Tauri 2, React, and Rust, that handles those chores in one place. It switches accounts, falls back automatically when the 5-hour or weekly quota runs out, cleans up old sessions, and manages MCP entries and Skills with backup and restore. It also routes relay models through a local proxy, so you can use third-party providers inside Codex Desktop without losing the ability to resume older threads. Because it reads and writes Codex data directly rather than wrapping the CLI, it cuts down on the config drift that comes from manual edits.
