Why we included this project

Baserow is a self-hostable no-code platform built around a spreadsheet-style database, with application building, automations, dashboards, and an AI assistant named Kuma layered on top. The assistant turns plain-language descriptions into actual tables, fields, views, and pages, so a team can go from an idea to a working internal tool without writing code. Self-hosting matters here because organizations that want an Airtable-like experience without sending data to a hosted SaaS can run everything on their own infrastructure, and they can keep data in their environment by bringing their own LLM or running a model locally. It is API-first and headless, so it also works as a backend for existing software, and the open-core MIT license keeps the core free for commercial use. For developers and small teams weighing low-code options, this is an extensible system rather than a prototype.
