Why we included this project
ReClip is a self-hosted downloader that wraps the well-tested yt-dlp engine in a clean web UI, so you can pull videos or audio from YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Twitter/X, and 1000+ other sites on your own hardware. Paste one or many URLs, pick MP4 or MP3, choose a resolution when available, and it handles the rest, deduplicating repeated links and batching downloads. The backend is a single Flask file with a no-build vanilla HTML/JS page, so it is easy to read, modify, and run locally or in Docker with just two Python dependencies. Teams that want a lightweight internal tool for archiving media or building datasets will appreciate that it does not impose a framework or a heavy stack. Just note the project's own guidance: it is meant for personal use, so respect platform terms and copyright when you use it.
