Why we included this project

MeTube wraps yt-dlp in a clean web interface, so you can queue downloads from YouTube and dozens of other sites without ever opening a terminal. It handles videos, audio, captions, and thumbnails, and can pull down entire playlists or channels in one go. The subscription feature is the real draw: point it at a channel or playlist and it periodically checks for new uploads, queuing them automatically, which keeps a self-hosted library current with minimal effort. It ships as a multi-arch Docker image and configures through environment variables, so it drops into an existing compose stack in minutes, and you can set concurrency limits, output naming, and storage layout to match your setup. If you'd rather click than type yt-dlp commands, this is a low-maintenance option.
