Why we included this project

Maintainers who spend their evenings answering the same setup questions can point PeterCat at a repository URL and get a working support bot without building an agent pipeline. The bot configures its own prompt, name, avatar, and starter questions, then pulls the project's resolved issues and markdown documentation into a knowledge base, so its answers draw on what the repo actually says. Reaching users works a few ways: a chat widget SDK for your website, or a GitHub App that installs straight into a repository and answers Discussions and issues where people already ask. The same assistant can summarize pull requests and help with code review, so it's more than a FAQ machine. Teams that need the bot to stay inside their own infrastructure can self-host, with local and AWS setups documented.
