Why we included this project

OpenPencil is an open-source vector design tool built around the idea that you should be able to describe a UI in plain language and watch it appear on an infinite canvas. Once the interface streams in, you refine it by selecting elements and chatting, and an agent orchestrator divides the page into sections like hero and footer so multiple agents render them in parallel. The design-as-code core keeps the result practical: designs live as human-readable, Git-diffable JSON files, and you can export to React + Tailwind, HTML/CSS, Vue, Flutter, SwiftUI, or Jetpack Compose from one source. A built-in MCP server lets Claude Code, Codex, or OpenCode read and edit those files from the terminal, which fits developers who prefer to review design changes as code. The desktop app, CLI, and embeddable web viewer mean a small team can use it standalone or slot it into an existing workflow.
