Why we included this project

tldraw gives you a complete whiteboarding engine as a React library, so you can build an infinite canvas app without writing the drawing, snapping, and text handling yourself. It covers pressure-sensitive strokes, geometric shapes, arrows, rich text, and image and video embedding, and a runtime Editor API lets you drive the canvas programmatically. The library is built to be extended with custom shapes, tools, bindings, and UI components, and it exposes primitives designed for LLM-driven interactions, which is why it keeps showing up in agentic and AI-assisted canvas products. Real-time multiplayer sync is self-hostable through a separate package, so you can add collaboration without depending on a hosted service. Teams building diagramming tools, design canvases, or AI-assisted whiteboards get a mature base to build on.
