Why we included this project

Open CoreUI is a Rust rewrite of the Open WebUI chat frontend that drops the usual stack of Docker, Python, PostgreSQL, and Redis. You get either a single desktop executable or a standalone command-line server, so there's no infrastructure to babysit. It keeps the original Open WebUI interface, which helps anyone familiar with that project, while the Rust backend aims for a much smaller memory and hardware footprint. Right now it's still in early development and only basic chat works, so treat it as a promising lightweight option rather than a full replacement. That tradeoff makes sense for people running chat on modest hardware or wanting a native app without extra services.
