Why we included this project
WPPConnect wraps the WhatsApp Web client so a Node.js application can drive a WhatsApp number directly. You can send text and media, pull contacts, groups, and message history, and run several sessions at once, which makes it a practical base for conversational tools: a support inbox that routes incoming chats to your own backend, or routine outbound messages like notifications. Teams already at home in JavaScript and Puppeteer will recognize the API, and the project keeps method names stable even as the underlying WhatsApp client changes. The catch is that it relies on the consumer WhatsApp Web interface rather than an official business API.
