Why we included this project
Statping bundles a status page and an uptime monitor into a single self-hosted Go binary, which is handy if you want a public availability dashboard without paying for a hosted service. It periodically checks your websites and HTTP endpoints, renders the results as graphs on a service-status page, and alerts you by email, Slack, or Twilio when something goes down, with room to plug in your own Go notifier for other channels. The binary is light enough to run on a small EC2 instance, a Docker container, or a Raspberry Pi, so it fits low-budget setups that still need to keep customers informed during outages. It also exposes a Prometheus exporter, letting uptime metrics feed your existing monitoring stack. For teams whose main concern is transparent service health plus basic alerting, this is a fast and dependency-light way to get there.
