Why we included this project

Once your team outgrows running Ansible from a laptop, AWX is the natural next step. It wraps Ansible in a web interface, a REST API, and a job scheduler, so playbook runs, inventories, and credentials live in one place, and people who are not command-line users can trigger automation through a controlled UI. As the community upstream of Red Hat's commercial automation platform, it has been exercised in demanding enterprise environments. If you need an auditable, delegated way to schedule and run playbooks, this is the project to start with. One thing to know before you build around it: releases are paused during a large refactor, so check the project forum for the current status.
