Why we included this project
This Model Context Protocol server connects AI assistants like Claude to Figma, giving them structured access to the actual design file rather than a loose approximation. It is not a screenshot-to-UI generator; the value is in real variables, components, and styles, plus the ability to edit tokens in place and push code-side changes back into Figma through a two-way sync. That sync can replace the export pipeline many teams run through Style Dictionary or Tokens Studio. The server also handles the less glamorous jobs, like creating component sets from variant axes, running design-system health checks with WCAG coverage, diffing versions with changelog output, and manipulating FigJam boards or slides. For teams that treat Figma as the source of truth, this is a practical workflow layer rather than a demo.
