Why we included this project

Kai is a cross-platform AI assistant with persistent memory: it remembers facts and preferences across conversations and, over time, promotes the useful ones into its system prompt so you do not have to repeat yourself. It runs on Android, iOS, Windows, macOS, Linux, and the web, and beyond plain chat it can run real tools, like a web search or a shell command, and it can handle your calendar. On Android, a sandboxed Linux environment lets the model act on your behalf without root. You can connect it to a couple of dozen LLM providers with automatic failover, or keep a local model on-device when you want privacy. The Interactive UI renders tap-through screens instead of plain text, which makes it feel more like a productivity app than a typical chat window.
