Why we included this project
Klee is a native Mac app that keeps the whole LLM experience on your own hardware. It runs models through MLX on Apple Silicon, so chats never leave the machine and there's no account or subscription to worry about. What makes it useful beyond a plain chat window is the tool calling: the agent can read and write files, search the web, and run shell commands, which covers a lot of routine Mac work. Vision-capable models handle image attachments, and the app checks your RAM to recommend which model sizes will run comfortably. For Mac users who want their conversations to stay on their own hardware, Klee is a straightforward choice.
