Why we included this project

Open CoDesign is a desktop tool that turns a plain-language prompt into a working prototype, slide deck, or landing page without routing your work through a hosted service. You plug in the model you already pay for, whether that is a Claude or GPT API key or a local Ollama install, so there is no subscription lock-in and nothing leaves your disk. The design-to-code flow is the part that matters most here: generated layouts come out as real front-end files you can export as HTML, PDF, PPTX, or Markdown straight from the app. For teams that need output to match an existing brand, the DESIGN.md file and the per-region comment-and-rewrite workflow keep revisions consistent instead of producing a one-off image. That makes it a practical self-hosted option for small product teams that want the convenience of hosted design tools without the cloud exposure.
