Why we included this project
openv0 lets you go from a rough idea to working React, Next.js, or Svelte components, with a live preview so you can iterate visually instead of rewriting markup. Point it at a component library like Shadcn, Flowbite, or NextUI and it generates UI elements on demand. The generation pipeline is a multipass system where each pass is an independent plugin, which makes the codebase a good study subject even if you don't adopt it wholesale. That said, the project is no longer maintained and has been superseded by Cofounder, so treat it as a reference implementation. The share API and the asset library built from open-source component sets are the most useful pieces to lift for your own tooling.
