Why we included this project

This browser extension turns one of your tabs into a private chat assistant that runs on local models. Instead of sending prompts to a cloud service, it talks to Ollama on your own machine, with an experimental WebLLM mode that does inference entirely in the browser. Everything stays on your device, which matters if you handle sensitive material or simply want unlimited use without rate limits. It's available for Chrome and Firefox, with Edge support on the way, so you can keep the assistant open beside the pages you're already reading. The TypeScript and Vue codebase is easy to fork and adapt, and for people who already run local models it offers a polished, installable front end rather than a command-line workflow.
