Why we included this project

Data Formulator is for analysts and data teams who would rather ask questions than write chart code. It connects to databases, warehouses, and BI tools through connectors, then turns plain-language questions into charts on an interactive canvas you can edit, branch, and share. The data-loading step is the most useful part: agents find the relevant tables, suggest filters, and preview results before anything is loaded, which saves real time on messy enterprise sources. It installs locally with pip, uv, or Docker and works with OpenAI, Azure, Ollama, and Anthropic models through LiteLLM, so the same setup serves a single analyst or a whole organization. Charts are built on the Flint chart language, so they come out as editable specs rather than one-off images.
