Why we included this project

MaiBot is built for chat communities like Discord or QQ groups where most bots answer everything in stiff bullet points and kill the conversation. MaiSaka, the agent it runs, tries to read the room instead: she chimes in when it fits, stays quiet when it does not, and picks up the slang and speaking style of the people around her. She remembers users and their preferences across sessions, and will grab a fitting sticker or GIF rather than dumping plain text. Beyond casual chat, she can call external tools and MCP-based services to fetch live information while keeping a natural tone. For teams that want a self-hosted companion with some warmth, MaiBot is both deployable and a useful reference on memory, user profiling, and natural turn-taking.
